Tackling the scourge of paper-based patient data

Going digital is a hefty challenge for healthcare organisations, mostly because of the unstructured nature of the data. Steve Rudland, sales manager at Hyland, creator of OnBase, explains that even with mature electronic health records (EHR) in place, as much as one quarter of all patient information remains outside the system. Many NHS organizations struggle with best practices for going paperless and are seeking ECM solutions to help them mitigate risks and errors, and streamline processes throughout the enterprise.
