Hy-Tech Outreach Programs

Youth competitions, camps, field trips and internship opportunities give students a chance to have fun, learn from Hyland professional and achieve successes they never thought they'd be able to. Learn more at OnBase.com/techoutreach.

Hy-Tech Camps

Each Hy-Tech Camp covers a specific technology topic, providing students in-person guidance at every session. These camps are designed to get students interested in technology and remove barriers that may have prevented them from exploring their areas of interest.

Hy-Tech Club

Students at our Hy-Tech Camps decided they wanted more from their group learning experience, and the Hy-Tech Club was born. After a short application process, students meet each week after school where they learn about new tech concepts and work on projects to present at the end of the semester.

High School Innovation Showdown

Held annually, our High School Innovation Showdown program invites teams of students to Hyland to compete and showcase original ideas. The event is kicked off on a Saturday, and the students have a full week to work on their projects before presenting the following weekend. Student teams have a Hyland employee as a mentor throughout the process, monitoring their progress as they gear up to present their ideas to a panel of judges. Members of the winning team receive a prize, presented at Hyland’s company-wide Monday Morning Meeting, followed by a day of shadowing their mentors.

Classroom Presentations

Hyland employees visit classrooms and talk to students about careers in technology and the latest tech topics. Students learn about the real world application of IT skills and other aspects of the life of a Hylander.

Field Trips

Students visit Hyland’s campus to get a first-hand look at what a career in the software industry can be like. They tour the campus and check out the fun perks that employees enjoy – including the diner, badminton court and, of course, the slides! One of our software engineers presents a topic of interest or leads students in an “Hour of Code” where they receive a certificate for participating.

Students who want to spend more time learning about what a career in the software industry is like have the opportunity to shadow employees in several different departments, from software development to marketing to human resources. They explore potential career opportunities, get familiar with Hyland life and make contacts with future mentors.

We offer internships for students in both high school and college to gain valuable experience in the technology industry. Interns make a real impact as they get hands-on in nearly every department at Hyland. Our interns have even helped shape versions of our software.
