LONDON – June 12, 2012 – Hyland Software has successfully won a place on a framework contract tendered by the Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC), owned by the Further Education (FE) sector, covering the supply of electronic document management systems (EDMS). This contract ensures that CPC members receive exceptional value from suppliers when looking to invest in technology such as Hyland’s enterprise content management (ECM) solution.
This is the first time that document management systems have been integrated into the CPC College Framework Agreement. To be considered each supplier completes a full EU tender and review process to make sure it meets the CPC’s strict criteria. Hyland is one of only four vendors in the EDMS category, and received one of the highest scores because of the superior benefits colleges and universities obtain from its OnBase solution.
“Many colleges have seen a large decline in funding. As a result they are turning to technology to help deliver better outcomes with limited funds,” said Emma Sandford, Hyland’s education account manager. “ECM automates processes across the institution and provides instant access to information. Instead of manually processing documents, relevant data can be instantly captured and electronically sent to the most appropriate department. It reduces operational costs, improves efficiency and helps staff maintain a high level of service.”
More than 400 institutions are using Hyland’s ECM software to streamline processes across student admissions, student records, finance and human resources. Recently, Swindon College implemented OnBase, through partner Twofold, in its accounts payable department. “We decided to begin by using OnBase to streamline our internal document handling processes in order to more effectively manage the growing number of invoices we received in our AP department,” said Elaine Thickins, purchase ledger officer at Swindon College. “The solution has been so successful that we are now looking to use OnBase enterprise wide.”
