CLEVELAND – April 13, 2012 – The month of April is often associated with the beginning of spring. For county governments, April is better known for being National County Government Month, a time for county governments to raise awareness and understanding surrounding a county’s roles and responsibilities. This month counties are challenged with delivering a message to their communities about the services they provide and the direct impact their roles have on citizens. Hyland Software recognizes the contributions county governments make to better serve their constituents and supports local government efforts to educate residents about their roles and responsibilities to the community.
More than 450 county governments have implemented OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise content management (ECM) solution, to automate processes, provide better constituent service and decrease spending on IT investments. With OnBase, county governments are able to leverage:
- Faster Government- OnBase automates processes for county governments. Processes, from health and human services eligibility determination to invoice processing, move faster and decisions are reached quicker. Because OnBase is a nimble ECM solution, counties can start by implementing it in one department then grow the solution when they need to.
- Better Government- Using OnBase, employees will spend less time on manual tasks, have transparency in internal and external processes and collaborate faster across departments. A detailed tracking system will be in place to eliminate error-prone manual tracking systems.
- Cheaper Government- OnBase easily integrates with key data systems and applications without custom code. This links data to the important documents that support that data. Staff members have all the information they need to make decisions faster and support constituents better.
“It's important county governments take an active role in National County Month to educate constituents and help them understand the roles of government,” said Terri Jones, Hyland’s government industry marketing manager. “This is also a great time for counties to think about how they can improve those roles and processes to better serve their constituents and bring greater efficiency to their processes.”
