CLEVELAND – Dec. 6, 2012 – The need to deliver quick, efficient service to customers is at the forefront of most organizations' business plans to stay competitive, especially insurers. The insurance landscape has changed drastically, going from manual, paper-based processes to an expectation of having instant electronic access to quotes and policy information whenever policy holders need them. To deliver on its promise of providing the best service to policy holders, insurers like Safe Auto Insurance Company are investing in enterprise content management (ECM) solutions.
“Hyland Software was recommended to us by one of our business partners,” said Mary Lorms, vice president of IT support systems. “We saw the vision for OnBase and knew it would be the best system to not only meet our current ECM needs – to capture, store and retrieve outbound policy and claims documents – but also to expand the solution as those needs change in the future.”
OnBase will connect information in Safe Auto’s Guidewire policy management, billing and claims systems by incorporating unstructured data and supporting documents that come in paper forms, pictures and .wav files. The integration creates an easy way for Safe Auto to quickly retrieve inbound and outbound documents from either system they are currently working in.
“The benefit we derive from OnBase will be significant. Our OnBase solution will help us continue to provide fast, efficient service to our policy holders. Because we have a scalable solution that will grow when our needs grow, we are confident OnBase will fulfill our ECM needs well into the future and help us stay ahead of our competition,” said Lorms.
“OnBase will provide Safe Auto with the ability to do more with less effort. Using functionality like workflow, Outlook integration and advanced search and capture capabilities, processes will become automated, operation costs will be reduced and service levels to policy holders will increase,” said Ed McQuiston, Hyland’s vice president of global sales. “The key though is the integration between Guidewire and OnBase, allowing Safe Auto’s Guidewire users to seamlessly leverage key information from OnBase without leaving Guidewire. This allows them to maximize their efficiency by leveraging the power of these complementary tools through a single interface.”
Safe Auto plans to use OnBase enterprise wide, with the second phase being to expand the solution to its Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Accounting, Training and License Management Departments.
