Hyland, creator of OnBase Signs techUK’s Health and Social Care Interoperability Charter

LONDON – 20 January, 2016 – Hyland, creator of OnBase, has signed techUK’s Health and Social Care Interoperability Charter to help healthcare organisations provide the highest level of care by participating in the transformation of traditional boundaries between primary, secondary, community and social care.

Signing the Charter reinforces Hyland’s commitment to the UK health IT community, making OnBase, a single enterprise information platform, easier to integrate and communicate with other applications. As more healthcare IT vendors actively support the charter, it becomes easier to exchange patient information, which results in better access to information and improved patient care.

“This was an easy decision, as the charter effectively captures Hyland’s attitude towards interoperability; which has enabled it to develop close partnerships with leading healthcare technology providers, such as Allscripts, Calgary Scientific, Epic, GE, Silverlink and TeraRecon amongst others,” said Steve Rudland, customer advocacy & consulting lead - EMEA at Hyland. “By cooperating with each other, we improve the ability of our customers to deliver better healthcare to their patients and service users.”

The continuum of care includes general practitioners, hospitals, health commissioners, insurers, community clinicians, mental health services, schools, social services, home care providers, occupational health, police services, and other agencies that work with patients. It also includes patients themselves, with self-management of conditions through technology such as healthcare apps. The OnBase platform, with vendor neutral archive (VNA) capabilities, makes it a perfect fit for sharing unstructured content, such as MRIs, lab results, CT scans, reports, wound care photos, scanned documents and electronic forms.
